refund & sick policy

As a small, community-powered space, every class seat, membership, and drop-in visit helps keep the lights on and the glitter flowing! Because of this, we are not able to offer refunds for classes, open lab hours, or memberships. However, if something didn't go as expected, please let us know. We are happy to offer credit toward future classes or day passes.

If you've paid for a class and you're sick, please stay home. We appreciate if you're able to let us know so we can open the seat for someone else.  When you're feeling better, we'll set you up with a replacement class of your choosing at no additional cost.

In the rare case of an emergency or unexpected event that requires us to close early or cancel a class, we’ll notify you as soon as possible and make sure you’re offered an opportunity to reschedule.

age policy

Please note, Craftlab is a 14+ makerspace except for private events.

We’re currently designed for teens and adults (we've got sharp tools, hot equipment, and small parts). We hope to add a kid's corner to the open lab in the future. Thank you for helping us keep this space safe and focused!

participation waiver & liability release

If participating in activities at Craftlab, visitors sign a waiver with the following information:

  • No Refunds: I understand that Craftlab does not offer refunds for classes, memberships, or open lab hours. If I miss a class, I may reschedule for a future session at no additional cost.
  • Use of Tools & Materials: I understand that Craftlab is a hands-on creative space that involves tools and materials such as scissors, needles, hot glue, sewing machines, paints, and 3D printers. I agree to use them safely, responsibly, and according to posted or provided instructions. I understand that supplies rotate and not all equipment or materials will be available at all times. [Supplies are for shared use in the space, not for your home studio — please don’t pocket things that aren’t yours. It’s not cute and you will be asked to leave.]
  • Assumption of Risk: I recognize that accidents can happen. I assume all risks related to using the space and equipment, and I release Craftlab and its staff from liability for any injury I may sustain while participating.
  • Personal Belongings: I take full responsibility for any personal items I bring. Craftlab is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged belongings.
  • Guests: If I bring guests (including family or friends), I am responsible for their safety, conduct, and understanding of this agreement.
  • Shared Resources: I will respect shared tools and supplies. I will use only what I need and help keep resources available and accessible for everyone.
  • Cleanup: I will clean up my workspace and return any tools or materials I used before leaving.
  • Community Conduct: I will treat others with kindness and respect. Craftlab is an inclusive and welcoming environment — harassment, hate speech, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the space.
  • Purpose of Use: I understand that Craftlab is a community space, not a commercial production facility. I agree not to use included materials for mass production or resale.
  • Staff Guidance: I agree to follow the guidance of Craftlab staff and volunteers regarding safety, supplies, equipment, and community expectations.
  • Health & Safety: I agree not to attend if I’m sick. I will do my best to notify staff if I’ve registered for a class I can’t attend and understand I may reschedule, but will not receive a refund.
  • Membership Terms: If I purchase a membership, I understand it renews monthly. I may cancel at any time, and the cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing cycle.
